Eolos' Features and Capabilities
The current version of Eolos provides the following:
- Radar projection of plots and tracks from primary and secondary radar systems as well as simulated plots or tracks.
- Projection methods include: Mercator Conformal, Mercator Transverse, Lambert equal area, Stereographic, Ortho-quadrangular
- Background map data include coastlines, islands and political borders provided by any map database available.
- Map elements include: Airways and airway codes, Navigation aids(VOR, DME, Reporting points,TACAN,NDB)
- Total colour editing and selections for all map elements.
- Output message history dialog box. Fully adjustable log system for error or other user messages.
- Compatibility with virtually any known radar protocol (documentation may be required)
- Radar protocol data checking. Error messages exist for wrong message keys or identifiers, unknown data items according to User Application Profiles etc.
- Primary and Secondary recording capability in any media supported by today's PCs.
- Connection through PC serial port (with or without the Eolos hardware converters), USB to serial port adaptor, modem dial-up connection and leased line. Version 4 can also perform local LAN connections thought the Eolos Server or even through the Internet.
- Minimum distance safety alarms for all aircraft. Both visual and acoustic alert.
- Simple to use User Interface.
- Fully adjustable range rings projection.
- Aircraft route plotting from recorded data.
- Printing of radar picture or aircraft routes.
Additional features can be added or extracted if needed.
